CLEANING UP WITH MANAGED PRINT
Founded in 1956, Sauk Prairie Healthcare operates a hospital and three surgical specialty practices in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, as well as four primary care clinics in the surrounding communities.
THE CHALLENGE
Sauk Prairie Healthcare was looking for a more efficient way to manage its printer and copier fleet and associated supplies. The company had 29 copiers and 130 printers (16 different models). They were looking at replacing and upgrading the fleet of printer and copiers and reducing monthly maintenance and supply costs. One problem was the supplies that were stockpiled in all the departments, taking up both valuable space and purchase costs. “We were looking for a partner that could help us manage our fleet of printer, copiers and supplies,” says Rick Sauer, Director of Financial Services.
THE SOLUTION
The Gordon Flesch Company’s (GFC) analysts helped eliminate unnecessary machines and standardize on select models of copiers and printers. Additionally, the organization adopted GFC’s Just-in-Time delivery system. This will allow Sauk Prairie Healthcare to eliminate stockpiled supplies and receive toner just as the machines needs it. “Overall the whole implementation process was fairly easy, and with GFC managing our printer and copier fleet, our IT Department can concentrate on key projects,” he says.
THE RESULT
Sauk Prairie Healthcare experienced a fairly problem-free implementation. “Our people are happy with the new, well-functioning machines, we have been able to eliminate the stockpile of toner and supplies, and are working on disposing of the 4 foot by 4 foot pile of old toner and supplies,” says Sauer.
