One of the most important things educators have learned since the COVID-19 pandemic began is how to make more effective use of technology. That includes the printers and copiers that are the backbone of any school’s infrastructure.
We have seen the rise of virtual learning help educators propel their technology skills to the next level. Teachers have become more adept at using video conferencing tools like Zoom. Districts put Chromebooks, iPads and other devices in the hands of students. But how do schools get more from their existing print technology?
The Gordon Flesch Company (GFC) recently conducted a survey of over 7,000 customers through a third-party research company. Here’s what we have learned about the value of our imageCARE+ Managed Print Service for teachers, administrators and students.
Many schools have rediscovered the value of efficient print production facilities. A well-run copy enter ensures staff can have large print jobs done quickly and more cost-effectively. “(GFC) is the reason I’ve made the Chemistry Copier Center a Canon copier-only operation,” says Bruce Goldade, Copy Center Manager at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Chemistry Department. “It was the GFC team that helped make my copy center the great operation that it is now.”
The imageCARE+ MPS should provide all your printer-related needs with strategic planning and a flexible solution set. GFC works with leading brands such as Canon, Ricoh and Lexmark to provide the most ideal mix of hardware and software solutions to clients.
In addition, GFC owns its own leasing service, which means we can offer flexible terms if new departments or users need to be added during the life of the contract. This means schools can get the machines they need, eliminate machines that are underperforming and only pay for the service they need.
Schools don’t have the time or resources to shop for toner and printer supplies. Unfortunately, supply chain issues have seen some schools run out of toner, making it difficult for teachers to provide students with photocopied assignments.
A Managed Print Service can stock supplies as needed or Print Monitoring Software can be deployed to send the right supplies just when its needed directly to the correct copier, MFP or printer. This Just-In-Time inventory strategy makes sure that no excess toner is being purchased and ensures that your inventory is being properly rotated. “Ordering supplies has always been a breeze, with great customer service, and fast delivery,” says one Administrative Director in education.
If a school or district counts on a small number of print devices, printer downtime can throw a wrench in even the best planned syllabus. (Of course, most students are probably happy if a jammed printer means no pop quiz.) MPS offers fast and accurate service for schools and educators.
Schools can choose to purchase and own printers, but this leaves them with little flexibility and no customer support. The Gordon Flesch Company deployed the imageCARE managed print service for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, including custom machine labels and automatic meter reads to improve service, management and maintenance. “The Gordon Flesch Company customer service representative I work with is always very transparent and helpful,” says Renae Beier, Operations Director, The University of Wisconsin-Madison. “Also, any time we’ve needed immediate assistance someone has come to assist and fix the issue immediately.”
Best of all, the service of an MPS program means educators have less burden of IT administration and service is available when you need it. And as a family-owned and locally operated technology company, GFC’s values are aligned with the schools in our communities. “The Flesch family values and vision are instilled into GFC,” says Dan Schmidt, IT Director, Wisconsin Public Schools. “No matter who you work with, you get the best pricing, service and the best overall experience.”
